Door skin molding wood press machine (GL DOOR SKIN)

molding wood press

Italpresse anticipated the industry as one of the pioneers in the development of MDF door skin molding wood press machine and technologies.

Door skin molding in MDF (Medium-Density Fiberboard) is a production process aimed at creating surface coatings for doors. The term ‘door skin’ refers to a thin, decorative layer that is applied to the surface of a door to improve its aesthetic appearance and strength.

The molding wood process starts with a sheet of MDF, a composite material made from pressed wood fibres and binders. This sheet is shaped and moulded using a hydraulic or mechanical press, together with specific temperatures and pressures. The resulting shape is designed to fit the door structure.

During the moulding process, patterns, textures or decorative features can be incorporated into the surface of the door skin. After the moulding stage, the door skin can be cut and finished to the desired dimensions and specifications.

This production method offers an efficient solution for enhancing the appearance of doors, allowing greater flexibility in design and final aesthetics. MDF door skins are widely used in the interior door industry and can be adapted to a variety of styles and applications.

Over the years, we have gained extensive experience in this sector and today we are able to offer a wide range of solutions, including automated systems and advanced presses. Our offer includes single and multi-way presses with sequential or simultaneous closing capability, providing pressures up to 4,000 tonnes.
